Founded in 1903 and still one of the most exciting colleges for art, design and the crafts in the country. Situated in the thriving cosmopolitan city of Leeds, two hours by train north of London, it is also one of the largest specialist schools of art and design in the UK.  Students benefit from opportunities to work on professional briefs, enter national design competitions and particpate in international projects - all helping to provide realism, facilitate exposure to public audiences and maintain contact with the creative industries.
The formation of GIDE in 2003 was the culmination of earlier collaboration, originally with KHM in Belgium and Ecole Boulle in Paris and developed to inspire and influence staff and students of design, encouraging them to engage with each other through projects set inside the different cultures. Two undergraduate courses participate in GIDE: BA (Hons) Art & Design (Interdisciplinary) and BA (Hons) Interior Design.
